In Your Community: Solar training at Sunlabob headquarters, Laos

Earlier this month, two of our product application engineers from Malaysia and Singapore, visited our friends at Sunlabob’s headquarters in Vientiane, Laos. Our mission was to conduct a two day technical training session focused on off-grid and grid-tie applications. The training covered the technicalities of our hybrid inverters, solar charge controllers, and communications and monitoring devices.

This on-site collaboration equipped Sunlabob’s installers and developers with new expertise and skill sets to help manage this fast growing market. As experts in both community/rural electrification and commercial off-grid throughout Southeast Asia, India, Africa, and the Pacific, technical training delivered an added value to their ongoing achievements. “Hands-on, face-to-face training, like what Schneider has provided, is a valuable element to keeping solar developers and installers like Sunlabob up-to-date with the newest products and skillsets,” said Andy Schroeter, CEO of Sunlabob.

For us, it was also a very valuable experience. Yong-Nee Tay, regional solar sales manager in Singapore, noted “hands-on training like this is a ‘win-win’ situation. On-the-ground practitioners like Sunlabob are familiarized with cutting-edge technology, and Schneider gains valuable insight about important emerging markets such as Laos and Myanmar.”

It was a pleasure collaborating with Sunlabob and we look forward to exchanging and developing further expertise together in the bright future!
