It’s a wrap on this year’s Solar Power International conference and exhibition. It was another successful year as over 15,000 professionals from the solar industry came together in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas proved to be a great host – the weather was amazing and, as expected, the city offered attendees lots to do after the show.

For Schneider Electric, it was a particularly busy event. First there was an interview with our VP, Transactional Line of Business and Strategy, Manish Kumar, conducted by Renewable Energy World. In this interview, Manish explained what Schneider Electric is currently doing in the solar industry and what’s in store for the future. Stay tuned for a video of the interview to be posted in an upcoming blog.

Next, it was a QuickTalk session on “The Innovation of New String Inverter Applications for Commercial Rooftops” presented by Catherine Chen, the Global Product Line Manager for our new Conext CL, a three-phase string inverter for commercial applications. During this presentation, Catherine went over some of the features of the  Conext CL, including the different options for installation – namely the lay flat option which reduces installation space and cost.

Then there was our booth. This year, we incorporated a new interactive area to challenge how much people knew about off-grid solar applications. Attendees were encouraged to go up to one of two touchscreen kiosks and read about different off-grid applications and solutions. After, they could complete a series of different games, including a puzzle, quiz, and a matching game. Each day, the scores were tallied and the three people with the highest scores won a prize.

We can’t wait until next year’s SPI, to be held next door to the happiest place on earth – see you in Anaheim!
