We’re delighted by the great news that the team Baitykool won the 3rd place at the 1st Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME)!
Schneider Electric Solar Business supplied its unique residential and commercial line of solar products for the SDME 2018, one of the largest university competition that challenges students to design and build solar-powered houses. Using Schneider Electric’s Conext™ XW+ hybrid inverter and five units of Conext™ MPPT 60 150 charge controller, Bitykool has won the 3rd place among the global competition in Dubai and was awarded by the prince of Dubai himself.
The students along with Moustafa Nour, Sales Application Engineer at Schneider Electric, have worked hard for 18 months for this project, which was appreciated by international experts and professionals. Sherif Seif, Regional Business Development Director for MEA at Schneider Electric also supported this project. “We are extremely happy for the achievement as Baitykool is a fantastic team, full of energy and a true sense of innovation,” says Cyril Escaravage, Solar Business Leader Middle East at Schneider Electric.
The Baitykool project has been awarded the privilege to stay until Expo 2020 Dubai for more experimentations for research on housing in the desert climate.
The SDME 2018 was organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai. The goal of SDME 2018 was to develop and promote ideas, capacities and technologies that can be implemented for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Middle East region, focusing on solving the issues and needs for the sustainable living in this region, where high temperatures, high humidity, and dust condition the daily lives during most of the year.
