Singapore raises the bar for sustainable living

In Singapore, 80% of the population resides in public property developments managed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB). The HDB recently awarded its largest solar leasing tender of 38 MegaWatt-peak (MWp) to date to Sunseap Group Pte Ltd. Under the tender, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems will be installed at approximately 680 HDB residential blocks in four towns as well three HDB-owned commercial and industrial properties. Due to land scarcity, it is a challenge to develop large ground-mounted PV power plants to generate solar energy to power the Lion City. As such, urban rooftops are most ideal for this deployment.

The launch of this tender demonstrates the government’s commitment to improve sustainability practices and promote smart living, and to achieve 350 MWp of solar by 2020, which is rougly 5% of Singapore’s projected peak energy consumption.

With a commitment to helping our customers secure their PV investments and maximizing ROI, the Conext CL Optimum+ grid-tie inverter proved to be the ideal choice for this decentralized commercial solution for Sunseap, offering maximum flexibility, productivity, and reliability.
